Dr. Derrell D. Hudgins of Fayetteville

Dr. Derrell D. Hudgins of Fayetteville went home to be with the Lord, Monday, Dec. 10, 2012.

Dr. Hudgins was the pastor of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Douglasville, Ga. He was the founder and director of Foot of the Cross Restoration Ministries, Inc.

He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Madeline Hudgins; son, Rev. Craig Hudgins and wife, Sandy of Covington; daughters, Michelle Loftin and husband, Scott of Powder Springs, Rebekah Dickie and husband, Sam of Marietta; step-daughter, Lisa Taylor and husband, Keith of Fayetteville; sister, Virginia Barney and husband, Roger of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Stephen Hudgins, Elizabeth Hudgins, Megan Loftin, Morgan Loftin, Madison Loftin, Emma Grace Dickie, Caleb Dickie, Rachel Taylor; Emilee Taylor; several nieces and nephews; beloved dogs, Patches and Bailey.

A Home going Celebration was held Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, 2515 Pope Road, Douglasville, Ga. 30135.

Dr. Hudgins will lie in state at the church from 11 until 1 p.m. Dr. Joe Arthur, Rev. Craig Hudgins and Rev. John Ridings officiated.

Interment followed at Lisbon Baptist Church Cemetery on GA Hwy 85, Fayetteville, Ga. Those wishing may sign the on line guestbook at www.parrottfuneralhome.com.

The family received family and friends Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Parrott Funeral Home and Crematory, 770-964-4800.
