Holiday show featuring local dance companies benefits SCHS chorus and drama

Georgia Youth Ballet and Carla’s Dance Factory Performing Company will be presenting a new holiday production to benefit the Chorus and Drama Departments at Sandy Creek High School.

Sponsored by the Choral Boosters, this first ever collaboration brings the talented dancers from GYB and CDF together with the gifted members of the SCHS chorus and special guest vocalists to create a wonderful holiday show designed to entertain the entire family.

A Radio City style first act features traditional Christmas music and updated holiday favorites. The beautifully lyrical “Heaven,” and the “Parade of the Wooden Soldiers,” made famous by the Rockettes, are highlights.

Act two is “The Nutcracker: Land of the Sweets.” The Sugar Plum Fairy welcomes Clara and the Nutcracker Prince to her kingdom. She invites them to be entertained by members of her court. Each dance represents a country and special treat but none is more beloved than Mother Ginger and her Gingersnaps.

Performances are Friday, Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 18 at 2:30 p.m. at Patriot Hall at Sandy Creek. All tickets are $10. Tickets are available by calling Carla’s Dance Factory at 770-487-8001 and at the box office prior to each performance.
