Tyrone honors police officers

Honoring the employees of the Tyrone Police Department at an annual dinner has become a tradition. The 4th Annual Tyrone Police Department Banquet was held Dec. 8 at the Tyrone Depot. Among the many awards presented by Chief Brandon Perkins were those to Sgt. Eric DeLoose (left) for the 2010 Employee of the Year and to Officer Shawn Albea for the 2010 Officer of the Year. First, congrats to both Officers. What is the distinction between "Employee" of the year and "Officer" of the year?

you think about a "beverage of choice" meet, because if you say "coffee", you automically exclude Bonkers--now do you want to do that? Of course he/she/it opted out of a 6 Dec meet with Mike King & I. Hey, do what's right, we'll show up! What is clear is that it won't be at Ruby Tuesday's!

I believe CHR$ has went through yet another change. I've lost count of how many there have been. His most classic blog was "My Research is Clogging" back in 2007.

would join?

I would simply stand anonymously at one end of the restaurant and watch.

It would be a good show.

Don't know if he'd show up or not--maybe if we offered a re-match with Steve Lindsey he could be enticed!

Thanks, same to you & yours and we'll get together again early next year!

One has hair and the other doesn't?

I saw DeLoose standing outside his police car joking around with officers in another car on 74 between Peachtree city and Tyrone. He appeared to have a cud in is lower lip that still makes me want to puke. Not very professional at all. I'm really sorry my tax dollars pay for someone to stand there looking like that.

The one to really respect is Officer Van Brock, but you will never see Tyrone give him the reward or acknowlegement he deserves.

Did you happen to walk by? I haven't observed too many pedestrians on that stretch of roadway, so be careful. Surely, you didn't make this observation from your car doing 55 mph or better. Assuming 40-50 feet, and a large cud being , say 1.5 inches great eyesight or pure BS.

Did you turn down the volume on your car's sound system to know they were joking?

parked together on the side of 74. He was standing outside of his in broad open daylight with the bigest cud of tobacco in his bottom lip I've ever seen. It is just that simple. When you drive right by them, it is pretty hard to miss, and yes, my eyesight ..is.. 20/20
