Palmetto Youth League celebrates holidays

These are just a few of the kids participating in the Palmetto Youth League’s first Holiday Celebration held the weekend before Christmas. A mountain of gifts were presented, along with Zumba dances with Amy Jaynes, caroling with Karletta Knox and plenty of refreshments.

The youth league will also sponsor Teen Night Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Tara Miller, Teen Night is a new mentoring program emphasizing leadership and other teen guidance initiatives.

Next summer, PYL will operate its summer camp, basketball and soccer programs. The Palmetto Youth League became operational in February 2010.

PYL is a non-profit organization headquartered at the C.A. Carter Center at 204 Taylor Circle in Palmetto.

For more information on Jaynes’ ongoing Zumba classes and other activities phone 770-463-2260 or visit www.palmettoyouthleague.org. Photo/Special.
