Rotary celebrates community gifts

The Fayetteville Rotary Club recently held its annual Community Gifts celebration. The club’s fundraising efforts enable them to give back financially to several local charities in Fayette County. In attendance as donation recipients were Becky Davenport, executive director with Leslie Wade the board president of Fayette Youth Protection Homes, Gerald Sudduth from Fayette Samaritans, Debbie Britt, executive director of Fayette Senior Services, Marie Sams, executive director with Dale Georgia board president of the Joseph Sams School and Rotary Club President Tony Fritz.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9949's next meeting is Thursday, July 9, at 200 Glendalogh Court in Tyrone. The group meets at 7 p.m. the second Thursday of every month.

Sports

The Hurricane Junior Golf Tour traveled to Senoia June 6-7 for the Canongate Series #4. The Canongate Seminole Course played excellent host to two very competitive rounds of junior golf.
