We people of faith talk a lot about faith. You know, believing things we cannot see with our human eyes and cannot prove by scientific data. One of our favorite Bible passages is “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 KJV.

That’s right. What if the authors of the 27 books of the New Testament of the Bible had been limited to only one “tweet” on “Twitter” in order to get their main point across? That’s kind of a strange question and scenario, but in our “tweet-happy” world, maybe not so far-fetched.

On the subject of the importance of religion in America it seems we have the proverbial “good news and bad news.” I read a most interesting article recently that is an adaptation of a speech given by R.R. Reno, editor of “First Things,” a journal of religion in public life.

I recently became a new member in a special club. Everyone already in the club before me has bragged and bragged about how wonderful it is, and I’m finding out that they are, of course, absolutely right. It’s The Grandparents Club, and I’m now “Grandpa Kollmeyer” to my new-born grandson Philip.
