On the first Sunday in October we at Prince of Peace joined with Christians around the world to celebrate World Communion Sunday. It is quite a meaningful experience. This year for my sermon I was led to talk about the “Four Tables of Holy Communion.”

Done for me lately?

Sure, we acknowledge that Jesus did a lot of wonderful things for people way back then and there, but we’re being bold enough today to ask the question, “Yes, but what’s Jesus done for me lately?” Emphasis on both me and lately. I’ll come back to this.

We all just had Easter Sunday. It was a glorious day. All our churches were spectacularly decorated and full of worshippers. All our music was exhilarating. People looked great. All our offerings were probably the most of any one Sunday. All the preaching was inspired.

Citizens of Heaven

There’s a lot of talk about citizenship these days. We’ve heard questions and challenges concerning citizenship and qualifications. We know there is a big question concerning what to do about people who are in our country who are not legal citizens.
