The public is welcome to attend the 7:00 p.m. meeting or to watch live or on demand at The complete agenda and packet are available at .

DAPC Special Called Meeting – Wednesday, September 1
The Development Authority of Peachtree City will hold a special called meeting with members of the City Council on Wednesday, September 1, 6:00 p.m., at City Hall. The meeting will be to discuss future efforts of the DAPC based on the City’s 2011 Budget allotment in conjunction with the creation of the City Economic Developer position. A quorum of both Development Authority and City Council might be present, and the public is welcome.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) contractor will close Highway 74 South completely between Rockaway Rd and Redwine Rd for drainage work on the September 10-12 weekend. They will close the road after the high school football game on Friday night, and will reopen Highway 74 no later than 5:00 a.m. on Monday, September 13. The detour will be Holly Grove Rd to Robinson Rd and Redwine Rd.

Neighborhood Forum – Saturday, October 2
Peachtree City and the Peachtree City Civic Association (PTCCA) will hold a neighborhood forum on Saturday, October 2, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at City Hall. The seminar, entitled “Empower Your Neighborhood,” will include information on Homeowner Association issues (forming HOAs, collecting dues, renewing covenants, and addressing liability issues), as well as presentations from PTCCA and the City on ways to stay informed about and participate in community issues that affect your neighborhood. Registration will be available later this week through the PTCCA web site at . Neighborhoods do not currently need to be members of PTCCA to have a representative participate in the program.

Do you recycle? It’s as easy as making a phone call.
Peachtree City residents who pay for weekly garbage collection can add recycling to their service at no additional cost. Peachtree City requires residential curbside sanitation companies to include co-mingled recycling as part of their base cost, so adding recycling does not increase the bill. Companies must accept newspaper, glass containers, aluminum beverage cans, bimetal cans, HDPE and PET plastic containers (#1 & #2 in the “recycling” triangle on the bottom), and cardboard. Call your service provider today. For a complete list of authorized companies, visit .

Path Safety & Rules - Audible Signal Required
Peachtree City’s Path & Golf Cart ordinance requires all golf cart drivers and bicyclists approaching a pedestrian from behind to provide an audible signal of their approach. Horns or bells are excellent equipment to have on both carts and bikes. Verbal warnings also help to alert a pedestrian to your approach. Pedestrians should walk on the far left to clearly see oncoming path users and be further away from faster traffic approaching from behind. Also, pedestrians should make sure nothing (like headphones) prevents them from hearing oncoming traffic. Let’s share the paths, safely.
