Richard and Barbara Stevens

Richard (Dick) and Barbara Stevens, of Fayetteville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a vacation to Adare Manor in Limerick, Ireland. They were married on June 20, 1964, by the Rev. Edwin Endicott at Trinity United Methodist Church in Van Wert, Ohio.

Dick retired in 2001 from Chrysler Corporation after a 35 year career. Barbara retired in 2012 from Heritage Bank after a career in the banking industry. They have resided in Fayetteville since 1992. They are members of Harp’s Crossing Baptist Church. Read More»

Herbert Wayne Green, Jr.

Herbert Wayne Green, Jr., 67, a native of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia, passed away in Macon, Ga. on June 11, 2014 with his family by his side.

He was born on May 31, 1947 in Harrisonburg, Va. to the late Herbert Wayne Green, Sr. and Adele Pastula Green. Herb was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Afterwards, he graduated from Lord Fairfax Community College and went on to obtain his real estate license from Bridgewater College. Bob and Barbara Byard of Fayetteville hosted a reception honoring their son Jonathan (Mac) Byard and Allison Sharp who were married on Sept. 7, 2013 in Coronado Island, Calif.

Mac graduated from Starrs Mill High School in 2001 and the U.S. Air Force Academy in 2005. He is currently stationed at Davis Monthan AFB in Tucson, Ariz. where he is an ADO and evaluator pilot for the EC130 aircraft. While there, he has served 6 combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. Read More»
