April is National STD Awareness Month
So it's national STD awareness month for those of you that don't know. Which I bet is most of you. What does that mean exactly? Well the idea of it is to bring awareness to the problem and basically scare people into being safe with statistics like this year 19 million people will become infected alone! http://www.ashastd.org/april-is-std-awareness-month.html
But really it's not all that crazy. Every year 19 million people will contract a new infection here in the good ole U.S., half of them under 25 but with teaching our kids values, education, proper screenings and protection we will be able to bring these numbers down.
How much do you really know about STDs?
The CDC says that we should all be tested every year and that kids should be included as well. Also did you see that a federal judge just said that we have to let our 13 year olds buy the day after pill even without a prescription or their parents permission. http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2013/04/07/176396151/with-plan-b-ruling-...
That can't help with the problem can it?
